Florida insurance agents, customer service reps, and claims adjusters are all required by the State to complete continuing education hours every two years to be in compliance and maintain their licenses. There is a specific required Law & Ethics Update course for your license. Then the remainder of the required hours are considered general electives and can be on any insurance topic. (3-20 Public Adjusters are the only exception as they must take courses specifically approved for 3-20 Public Adjusters.) The exact number of hours required depends on the license and how long you have held it.
New insurance agents and adjusters continuing education
New insurance agents and adjusters who have held their license for less than six years must complete 24 hours of CE every two years, including the Law and Ethics Update course specific to their license. The rest of the CE hours are general electives on any topic.

Incidentally, the Law & Ethics Update course requirement is changing from 5 to 4 hours for those whose two-year compliance cycle ENDS on January 1, 2022, or later. The general electives requirement will rise by one hour, keeping the total required hours the same. All our courses and bundles meet the current and future needs of the regulation (any extra Law & Ethics hours will be considered general electives).
